♟️ The power of simplicity
Start your year focused on what truly matters.
The Progress Report | January 7, 2025
As entrepreneurs, it’s easy to believe that more is better: more tools, more tasks, more goals. But what if 2025 was the year you did less—and achieved more?
If you're sitting there thinking, “yeah, right,” we wouldn't blame you. So first, a little proof this works.
WEEKLY INSIGHT

Bilt Rewards, a loyalty program for renters, grew to a $3.25 billion (that's with a b) company by “doing less to achieve more.” The company’s founder, Ankur Jain, saw a problem—that renters weren't getting the same benefits as homeowners—then relentlessly pursued a singular, impactful solution.
Become a minimalist. Automate the tasks you have to do, that don’t drive your business forward. If they don't have impact or bring you joy, and aren't required? Eliminate them outright.
A busy calendar and a busy mind will destroy your ability to do great things in this world. If you want to be able to do great things… you need free time and you need a free mind.
INTENT TO ACTION
Choose one tool, process or task in your business that doesn’t directly contribute to your goals. Eliminate or automate it.
If you’re stuck in a rut where everything feels important, here are some ideas:
Instead of manually following up on unpaid invoices, automate the process in QuickBooks, FreshBooks or Wave.
If you’re losing time tracking business expenses, sign up for Expensify or Shoeboxed. They let you scan receipts, then automatically categorize them for you.
Rather than going back-and-forth to confirm meeting times, get a Calendly account and start including the link in your email signature.
Simplifying your business isn’t about doing less—it’s about doing the right work. By clearing the clutter, you make space for what truly matters: growth, impact and fulfillment.
Next week, we’ll cover how to know if you're following your purpose, with an example that'll tickle the nostalgia bone.
See you then.
